About the Institute Accommodation and stipend Each participant will receive a stipend of $ 2,700 for travel, lodging, and living expenses. The Institute will arrange for a block of rooms either in the KHI guesthouses or in a nearby hotel, the Hotel Il Granduca, Via Pier Capponi, 13, 50132 Florence, Ph. +39.055.572803 Fax +39.055.579252. DETAILS > The Hotel Il Granduca is a comfortable, charming, family-run hotel within easy walking distance of the KHI and major museums, monuments, and institutions. Located in a characteristic residential area, the hotel is screened from the crowds of tourists. NEH Summer scholars will share a double room (34.57 euro/night). Italian-style breakfast is included as well as wireless internet access (a luxury in Italy!), but meals are not included. Apart from the welcome and farewell dinners, which will be kindly offered by a private donor, faculty are on their own for remaining meals. |
