Design of Patient-Centric Mobile Systems for Chronic Disease Management

With the increase in the ubiquity of mobile phones and tablets, these devices are being used more frequently in healthcare. The project focuses on how these systems can be used in the management of chronic diseases and ocuses on the design and development of a patient-centric management system for diabetes. Based upon formative research, a technological infrastructure was built to support and enable young adults in managing their diabetes. This project focused on novel ways to promote positive health management behaviors in individuals through evidence-based quantitative and qualitative feedback mechanisms.
