REU student participants will have the opportunity to work
with world-class faculty at the
University of Virginia on a variety of systems
bioengineering projects throughout the summer. Research
areas span topics ranging in scale from molecular dynamics
and bioinformatics to subcellular networks to whole-cell
models to tissue, organ, and population-level models, all of
which have strong clinical relevance.
Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students, U.S.
citizens or permanent residents, and be available for the
duration of the 10-week program. Students who have completed
at least two years of a science, mathematics, or
engineering-based curriculum that includes introductory
biology, chemistry, and calculus are especially encouraged
to apply. Women, underrepresented minorities, and military
veterans are especially encouraged to apply. You can apply
