Week 14
Due: 5pm, TUESDAY, November 22, in your Collab dropbox folder

This week, I'm asking you to write about a question that few academics have been able to answer -- What's going on with the intersection of (American) blackness and Japanese culture? Do you think these two amorphous cultural groups "naturally" and "obviously" relate to each other? How do coolness or authenticity enter in? How could this dynamic tell us something about constructions of otherness, difference, or social class? Or something else?

Be creative and thoughtful. I'm very interested in your thoughts as based on our readings, films, and discussions, as well as your own experiences.
