This image uses conventional sharpening to highlight the design detailing on the structures of the Salk Institute in San Diego. The materiality of the structures is very central to the building's identity and conventional sharpening brings out and highlights these details.

This image uses HIRALOAM sharpening to create interesting highlights in an image taken of a mounted deer head. The original image is faily uninteresting, however sharpening gives the mounted head a feeling of abstractness with a glow behind it. It breaths some life back into the head sitting high above on the wall.
