IMAGE 4: Sharpening and Tone

The final image in the series uses tonal changes and non-conventional sharpening techniques to bring out the textures and colors that are inherent to the image and ones that are introduced. Changing the tones of the small sediment pieces to a bright orange gives the deep purples a point of contrast. Similarly, the high radius, low amount sharpening techniques really brings out the contrasting colors and texutres in the image -- the sharp edges and smooth tonal transitions are emphasized by using this sharpening procedure. Overall, the image becomes about color and texture rather than subject or composition.
