Fairfax County, Northern Virginia. Recommendations for new develop-
ment to benefit from and support the intersection of two new light-rail systems. Greater density should result and also allow for "big-box"
retail stores.

where a station of the Virginia Railway Express faces an historic district to the
north and underutilized land to the south. New development should connect these two areas.

Brooke Regional: Transit - oriented development

Diagram of regional issues and opportunities to show connections of Brooke,
Virginia, a station of the Virginia Railway Express, to development centers
along I-94. Buses should circulate between three complementary centers
and around the county land-fill that will be converted to a regional park.

Richmond: Transit - oriented development

Proposal for transit-oriented development north of Richmond where a main rail line crosses the beltway. Two new "villages" should benefit from improved access. Sponsored by the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation as part of the Washington, DC / Richmond Rail Corridor project.
