Short Academic Bio

I obtained both my Bachelor and Master in Electrical Engineering (summa-cum-laude) from the Politecnico di Milano where I was also awarded the gold medal for best graduate student. I obtained a Ph.D. in Robotics and Control Systems from the University of New Mexico where I focused on control of homogeneous and heterogeneous multi-agent systems under communication constraints. Prior to joining UVa as an Assistant Professor, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the PRECISE Center, University of Pennsylvania. where I worked on several topics related to robotics and cyber-physical systems: resilient state estimation against cyber attacks on autonomous and complex vehicles (DARPA-Hacms); synthesis and co-design of programming environments for folding and 3D-printing robotic systems (NSF-PPR Expedition); motion planning of unmanned aerial vehicles under uncertainties, and coordination of autonomous vehicles using V2V technologies (DOT-Utc).
