Our website header is actually a representation of our broadband MW pulse. Both of the above figures are simulated linear frequency sweeps (the pulse used to rotationally excite molecules in our broadband MW spectrometer). The top figure shows a short section of a linear frequency sweep generated by our waveform generator. The black trace is a sine wave linearly changing its frequency as a function of time. The red dots are the digitized wave, as generated by the 4 Gsamples/sec arbitrary waveform generator (Tektronix AWG 710B). Below, only the digitized points of the waveform are shown (in blue) for a longer section of the pulse. The patterns are cool.
