Berger Lab @ Virginia

We are an interdisciplinary research group in the chemical engineering department at the University of Virginia. Our research uses synthetic biology and protein engineering approaches to develop models of biochemical/biological processes as well as design new tools and technologies across diverse areas such as sustainable production of green materials, advanced biomanufacturing, improving drug bioavailability and combating antimicrobial resistance. Our work is also highly interdisciplinary, involving close collaborations with clinical, government and industrial research groups.
