WELCOME
Candescence: Virginia Journal of Anthropology serves as a peer-reviewed
interdisciplinary forum for innovative research into any aspect of human
culture and society.
Published by the Department of
Anthropology at the University of Virginia, its on-line multi-media
capabilities allows for the presentment of scholarly work in
conventional textual form, sound broadcast, and short video film. Its
editors especially encourage submissions of studies which seek to create
new syntheses in anthropological thought and practice, as well as to
explore paradigms not currently supported by other journals. Research
papers, book reviews, and poignant commentary welcomed.
Produced without profit, the journal will only grant permission to reproduce for
non-profit educational use. For all other uses, written consent from the
publisher will be required.
