The Central Chemical Project Website
was developed in direct response to a need in the community for a source of centralized, up-to-date, straightforward information about the Superfund cleanup process now underway in Hagerstown, MD. The main purpose of the site is to assist members of the community in integrating all aspects of Central Chemical in Hagerstown into considerations about what steps to take in the present process, and to help generate investment and enthusiasm in the possibilities of the future

The PAST area of the site will host material about the history of Central Chemical from its small-town agricultural beginnings, to changes inside the plant as it grew.		PRESENT is a clearinghouse for current information related to the cleanup process, including community meetings, current steps, and health and safety information.		The FUTURE section will host the proposals for possible uses of the Central Chemical site after the Superfund process is complete.
