CHEM 1810: Principles
of Chemical Structure is the first of a four-semester sequence covering
the basic concepts of general and organic chemistry. The course establishes
a foundation of fundamental particles and the nature of the atom, develops
a rationale for molecular structure, and explores the basis of chemical
reactivity. Topics include introductory quantum mechanics, atomic structure,
chemical bonding, spectroscopy, and elementary molecular reactivity.
