Lab Coordinator/DMP

Caitlin Cole is a 4th year Psychology and Cognitive Science double major currently in the process of applying to graduate programs in Developmental Psychology. In her spare time, she can often be found watching travel documentaries or running long distances at slow speeds.

Graduate Students

Emily Hopkins is a 1st year graduate student from Massachusetts.   She earned her undergraduate degree in cognitive neuroscience from Brown University.  She is interested in studying the development of social cognition, particularly looking at how children learn information about the world from other people.  Emily is addicted to reading and is never without a book.  She also enjoys tap and swing dancing, or really any kind of dancing she gets the chance to try out.

Robyn Kondrad is a 3rd year graduate student from North Carolina. She earned her MA in Psychology at Arizona State University, and is interested in various aspects of cognitive development. She is also quite the waterbug: She swims competitively, gives swimming lessons at a variety of levels and ages, and scuba dives. Her other interests include spending time with her children, Calvin and Hobbes (cuddly brown tabby cats) and traveling the world.

Carrie Palmquist is a 2nd year graduate student from Northern Virginia. She got her undergraduate degree at William and Mary, and is still getting used to calling people "first years" and "second years" instead of freshmen and sophomores. She is interested in cognitive development, especially language acquisition and development. When not in the lab, she likes to take naps in her satellite chair, watch any show on BRAVO, and (occasionally) do pilates.

Research Assistants

Caitlin Carnell is a 3rd year Psychology major from Northern Virginia. After graduating, she looks forward to pursuing a career in medicine. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking cookies, having dance parties, and going to the gym for some excellent spin cycling.

Julie Furst is a 3rd year pre-med psychology major from Northern Virginia. She enjoys golfing, salsa dancing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. Julie has worked for the past three summers as a camp counselor, and loves meeting and interacting with new people. When she is not studying in school with the goal of becoming a surgeon or doing research in the lab, she loves to come home to hear the soothing, soft purr of her cat Leo.

Claire Galdun is a 3rd year Psychology and Modern Studies double major from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  She enjoys swimming on the University of Virginia's varsity swim team and writing fiction.  In her free time, Claire enjoys chasing her little dog Samson around and cooking "good" vegetarian meals.

Johanna Kreafle is a 2nd year from South Florida with an interest in studying Economics and the sciences. She enjoys volunteering at the UVa Medical Center and serves as the Outreach Chair for the university's Undergraduate Research Network. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Maura O’Fallon is a 3rd year student from Frederick, Maryland pursuing a double major in Psychology and Spanish.  She is involved in volunteering with Migrant Aid through Madison House, and is a member of Chi Omega sorority.  Maura enjoys the fine arts of online shopping, long phone calls with her mom and sister, blueberry pancakes, and watching “Gilmore Girls” with friends on lazy afternoons.
