Vikram Jaswal
is the Director of the Child Language and Learning Lab, and an associate
professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Virginia.
He normally teaches Psyc2150 (Intro to Cognition), as well as undergraduate
and graduate seminars on language development, imitation, and word learning.

Erika McCann
is a 4th year Psychology major and Anthropology minor from Norfolk,
VA. In her spare time, she enjoys watching excessive amounts of trashy
television and taking five-minute naps that end up lasting three hours.
She enjoys working with children and one can often find her hosting
birthday parties at the local Bounce 'n Play. After graduation she hopes
to attend graduate school to study clinical psychology.

Marissa Drell
earned her undergraduate degree in American Culture with foci in Developmental
Psychology and Women's Studies from Vassar College and her MA in Psychology
from Brandeis University. She is interested in the effects of media
on children's cognitive and social development. Marissa likes to collect
vintage toys and spend time outdoors hiking and biking.

Emily Hopkins
hails from Massachussetts and earned her undergraduate degree in cognitive
neuroscience from Brown University. She is interested in studying
the development of social cognition, particularly looking at how children
learn information about the world from other people. Emily is
addicted to reading and is never without a book. She also enjoys
tap and swing dancing, or really any kind of dancing she gets the chance
to try out.

Robyn Kondrad
earned her BS in Psychology at the College of William and Mary and her
MA in Psychology at Arizona State University. Her research explores
how children make inferences and predictions about people based on their
past behaviors. She was a competitive swimmer in a past life, and recently
circumnavigated the globe while teaching psychology courses for Semester
at Sea, a floating study abroad program for undergraduates. Her other
interests include spending time with her children, Calvin and Hobbes
(cuddly brown tabby cats), spendint time outdoors, gardening, and playing
with her 4 nieces and 1 nephew.

Carrie Palmquist
got her undergraduate degree at William and Mary, and is still getting
used to calling people "first years" and "second years"
instead of freshmen and sophomores. She is interested in cognitive development,
especially language acquisition and development. When not in the lab,
she likes to take naps in her satellite chair, watch any show on BRAVO,
and (occasionally) do pilates.

Shaina Rowell
earned her undergraduate degree from Florida Atlantic University in
Psychology and Biology. She is interested in how children learn from
others and the development of beliefs about memory. She loves to cook
and watch Iron Chef (sometimes simultaneously) and she is excited to
experience real fall and winter.

Katya Davydova is
a 2nd year Psych and Cog Sci student who enjoys learning, running and
exploring the great oudoors, and spending time with and meeting people.
She is involved with Club Gymnastics, CrossFit, Career Peer Educators,
and staying up until ungodly hours. She is excited to be working in
the lab and is planning on a career in clinical psychology.

Cindy Gray is
a 4th year Psychology major in the Curry School for Early Childhood
Special Education. Her interests include sticky rice, Asian emoticons,
and laughing. She enjoys working in education assessment for a biochemistry
lab at UVa, and eating in general. When Cindy becomes a contributing
member of society, she hopes to work in early intervention for children
with special needs.

Natalie Ryan is
a 2nd year from Arlington. Though her major is undecided, she knows
that she wants to attend the Curry School and be an elementary school
teacher. Natalie loves working with children and seeing babies at Starbucks.

Sydney Sampson is
a 2nd year studying Psychology and Economics from Vienna, VA. In her
free time, she enjoys giving historical and admissions tours of UVA
or having picnics in the University Gardens. Sydney also loves musical
theater, scented candles, and glitter. When she graduates, she plans
to continue working with children, researching the mysteries of developmental
psychology.

Shannon Savell is
a 1st year from Virginia Beach. She loves hiking, tennis, basketball,
going to the beach, and playing with kids. In her spare time, she enjoys
going to the AFC with her friends. She hopes to major in psychology
and biology. After what she knows will be an amazing experience at UVA,
she her plans include medical school and becoming a pediatrician.

Truc Tran is
a 2nd year studying Psychology and Statistics. She enjoys dramatic TV,
napping, and folding origami. Plans post-graduation may involve graduate
or medical school.

Ida Yonas is
a 4th year Psych major from Maryland. She spends her down time singing
with the Virginia Sil'hooettes and dancing with a dance crew on Grounds.
She occasionally enjoys singing and dancing in various locations and
playing with babies. She hopes to eventually do something meaningful
with her life and is keeping her fingers crossed.
