Lab Coordinator

Beth Luder is a 4th year Anthropology/Psychology double major from Lexington, Virginia. She enjoys volunteering for UVA Madison House, traveling abroad, eating excess amounts of unhealthy food, and running to work off all the extra eating.  In her free time, she enjoys re-reading Harry Potter and teasing her three-legged beagle Homer.

Graduate Students

Christina Emeh earned her BS in Psychology from Brooklyn College, City University of New York. Her research examines the way children with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder perceive their social and behavioral competence. Her other interests include watching junk television (reality tv, soap operas, The Simpsons), karaoke, and playing the flute.

Emily Hopkins hails from Massachussetts and earned her undergraduate degree in cognitive neuroscience from Brown University.  She is interested in studying the development of social cognition, particularly looking at how children learn information about the world from other people.  Emily is addicted to reading and is never without a book.  She also enjoys tap and swing dancing, or really any kind of dancing she gets the chance to try out.

Robyn Kondrad earned her BS in Psychology at the College of William and Mary and her MA in Psychology at Arizona State University. Her research explores how children make inferences and predictions about people based on their past behaviors. She was a competitive swimmer in a past life, and recently circumnavigated the globe while teaching psychology courses for Semester at Sea, a floating study abroad program for undergraduates. Her other interests include spending time with her children, Calvin and Hobbes (cuddly brown tabby cats), spendint time outdoors, gardening, and playing with her 4 nieces and 1 nephew.

Carrie Palmquist got her undergraduate degree at William and Mary, and is still getting used to calling people "first years" and "second years" instead of freshmen and sophomores. She is interested in cognitive development, especially language acquisition and development. When not in the lab, she likes to take naps in her satellite chair, watch any show on BRAVO, and (occasionally) do pilates.

Research Assistants

Izzy Begej is currently working on her undergraduate degree at Sweet Briar College. She is a rising senior and is studying Psychology and English Literature. In her free time, she likes to go swing dancing, run, and frequently likes to bake. Izzy's interests in the lab are in moral and cognitive development.

Adrianne Bell is earning her undergraduate degree at the University of Mary Washington. She loves holding babies and wishes she had a teacup pig. In her free time, she enjoys singing, playing the piano, crafting, and baking cupcakes!

Katherine Gould graduated from Washington and Lee University with a BS in Biology. She spent last year working in a Cell Biology lab at UVa, but is mostly interested in cognitive and developmental biology. When she is not in the lab, she is working at a local vineyard.

Cindy Gray is a 3rd year Psychology major in the Curry School for Early Childhood Special Education. Her interests include sticky rice, Asian emoticons, and laughing. She enjoys working in education assessment for a biochemistry lab at UVa, and eating in general. When Cindy becomes a contributing member of society, she hopes to work in early intervention for children with special needs.

Nora Kramer is a 2nd year Psychology major from Maryland. She enjoys volunteering on the pediatrics unit at the UVa Hospital and dancing with the university dance club and dance department. She hopes to go to graduate school or medical school after graduation.

Erika McCann is a 4th year Psychology major and Anthropology minor from Norfolk, VA. In her spare time, she enjoys watching excessive amounts of trashy television and taking five-minute naps that end up lasting three hours. She enjoys working with children and one can often find her hosting birthday parties at the local Bounce 'n Play. After graduation she hopes to attend graduate school to study clinical psychology.
