At the Child Study Center of the University of Virginia, we
investigate the development of infants and young children.
Most of our projects focus on early cognitive development and we are
particularly interested in how young children begin to master the many
symbols that are so important for thought and communication with others.
It is very rewarding to discover new things about how children develop
early in life. What we can learn, however, depends completely on the
willingness of parents to participate in our research. We are very
grateful to every family that lets us have a glimpse of their
children’s development!
