Research Group on Civil Wars



The Research Group on Civil Wars is part of PLAD 2500 - Research in Political Science, a new course in the Department of Politics at the University of Virginia.

PLAD 2500 provides students the opportunity to work as part of a Research Group led by a Politics Department faculty member.

The Research Group on Civil Wars, led by Professor Jonah Schulhofer-Wohl, studies the conduct of internal war. The Research Group's current project is on Civil War Dynamics.

Enrollment in the Research Group on Civil Wars for Spring 2015 is by application only. Non-Politics Department majors and Politics majors alike are encouraged to apply based on interest and relevant skills. Second and third-year students are also particularly encouraged to apply. PLAD 2222 is recommended but not required.

Interested students should submit a one-paragraph statement of interest, and project-specific information to j "dot" sw "at" virignia "dot" edu.Applications will be reviewed starting on Monday, December 1, 2014.
