Hint: Look at the units on the elastic limit: Interpret the elastic limit is the maximum force per unit area, then use that to calculate the maximum DeltaL for some given length rod for the material you are considering. |
+| 28 Jan | HW01 had a small typo. For part (2) "Processing a data file" the elastic limit values for the various substances should be in units of 1E8 N/m2, *not* 10E8 N/m2. I have fixed this typo on the wiki. If you already submitted HW01 you can go back and fix this error and submit a new version of your solution. Grading has not yet started. |
