• How does the text represent the difference between children and adults?  What’s a child according to the text? What according to the text are the challenges of growing up?
• Why is it important that children believe in fairies?  What do the fairies stand for?
• Is the book a celebration or a critique of Rousseau’s thoughts on education?  Would Rousseau approve of this book?  Why? Why not?
• Is there a synergy between fantasy and childhood?  Why? Why not?
