Library Design and Synthesis, Organic Chemistry, and Peptide Chemistry

"I develop new chemistries useful in generating innovative libraries, which will be screened for several activities as antibiotic, antiviral and, enzymatic inhibitors. I synthesize novel linkers for solid phase chemistry and work at the development of methods to follow and quantify reactions. And finally I help graduate students in their research."

Computational Chemistry to aid in Library Design

"My research is aimed at developing and utilizing computational tools to aid in the various library design and drug discovery projects currently underway in the Geysen lab. This has included the development of the Diversity Space methodology, which enables library-level similarity comparisons that facilitate such applications as scaffold hopping and surrogate synthesis."

"Research currently involves synthesizing epitopes and coupling them to carrier proteins to render them immunogenic and to monitor the immune response they generate in the model system, mice.  The long term goal is to investigate strategies to modulate the antibody response with the help of small molecules"
