Q.2
|
What are job opportunities like in the SELIM fields of Lasers,
Optics, and Photonics?
|
|

|
Excellent. There is an increasing demand and shortage of
skilled professionals in these high technology, rapid growth
fields. See for example the coverage of the Coalition
for Optics and Photonics' Manpower Forum held 6/19/00 in Washington, DC. The SPIE
and OSA can be useful sources of information about careers and
research in SELIM fields.

Yes, our SELIM program sponsors an annual 21st Century Light graduate recruiting event whose aim is to encourage women and minorities to enroll in graduate education and research programs.
