STUDENT EVALUATIONS

Sample comments from student evaluations appear below. The underlining is reproduced from the original:

Kononenko does know a lot about folklore

Very knowledgeable and interesting (on at least half of the evaluations submitted)

Interesting lectures &endash; always kept student attention

Course materials stimulated alternative modes of thinking as well as being enjoyable… definitely thought provoking

Course makes you think in a different way

Well-defined, organized lecture

The main strength is the way in which the information is conveyed. Prof. Kononenko is creative and interesting; she is interested in teaching this material.

This course was a great way to look at folklore and its relation to culture. I learned a lot about American and Russian culture. The instructor was excellent at tying stories and examples to the theories we studied. The bulletin board idea was very helpful.

The course and the instructor both have me questioning every story I read and looking at life in a more analytical way. Prof. Kononenko delivered lectures very well and was interesting and entertaining.

Never a dull moment. Very good at relating the material to everyday life. Has caused me to view a lot of things differently and to analyze many aspects of my culture that I took for granted.

Natasha was very personable and always well-prepared. Also, she tries to cater to the students' needs. Brought humor to the lectures and made it fun. An enjoyable class with a super professor.

Copies of actual evaluations are available in the Teaching Resource Center, Hotel D, West Range and in the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures, 109 Cabell Hall.
