WELCOME
We are located in the Jesse Beams
Laboratory of Physics. The group is led by Despina Louca,
Associate Professor of Physics. Our group primarily studies the
atomistic and magnetic properties of materials. Toward this end
we use neutron and X-ray diffraction (in particular, Pair Density
Function analysis is used for studying materials with disordering),
inelastic neutron scattering, and some theoretical methods such as
ab-initio molecular dynamics based on density functional theory.
Current active projects include:
 |
The
physics of colossal magnetoresistive perovskites

 |
Characterization and modeling of
amorphous alloys
