The Middle East Studies Program
at the University of Virginia


The Middle East Studies Program at the University of Virginia is an interdisciplinary program that coordinates and organizes events relating primarily to the Arab world, Israel, Iran and Turkey.

Undergraduate students desiring to major or minor in Middle Eastern Studies or Middle Eastern Languages and Literatures can obtain the requisite information by visiting the Degree Programs information page of the Department of Middle Eastern and South Asian Languages and Cultures (MESALC).

A study abroad program is available in Jordan for those who wish to learn Arabic.

The Director of the Program is Daniel Lefkowitz.
