Course Description
Environmental Health and Safety Management

This course will examine current national environmental health and safety (EHS) problems including hazardous materials, hazardous waste, clean air, water quality, ergonomics, indoor air quality, biosafety and worker protection. The emphasis is on management systems and strategies to address those complex, technical and legal problems. We will explore management tools such as compliance audits, pollution prevention, management systems, environmental dispute resolution and risk communications. Interactive exercises, class discussion, guest speakers and a field trip promote practical management skills for the generalist.
