I am an Assistant Professor of Public Policy and the Director of
Center for Leadership Simulation and Gaming here at the Frank Batten School
of Leadership and Public Policy, University of Virginia.
I received my Ph.D and MS in economics from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). My BS is from UCLA, double majoring in mathematics and economics. I've previously held faculty positions at the Naval Postgraduate School and the University of California, Berkeley.
My research interest is in game theory, organizational economics, and financial economics, often utilizing tools from experimental economics and behavioral economics.
In addition, my Department of Defense research interest has been in market design, focusing on issues in retention, compensation, and assignment.
