Instructional Method
EDHS 722 is an on-Grounds (resident) course that has an Internet supplemented lecture/discussion format. The course web site and the Internet material that supplements the course text are part of the instructional design of the course. Please review the Preface material in the text (pp. iii-x) to learn about the text resources. Because there are learning materials provided to guide study of each of the text chapters, a significant part of some class meetings will be spent on application. In those class meetings time after the break will be devoted to demonstrations, "real plays," and group presentations. There will be a guest presentation on counseling students for post secondary-education choices, and helping them make and achieve appropriate post-secondary goals. These two class meetings will be conducted by the University of Virginia Office of Undergraduate Admissions staff.
The course will have learning teams for required presentations and Internet postings. One class meeting will allow time for teams to prepare required material. The instructors will be available during that class meeting time to assist groups and/or individuals.
Instructor appointments are encouraged and email queries will normally receive responses within 24 hours. Anonymous feedback to the instructors can be provided using this feedback link. A personal response to anonymous feedback is not possible so any response will be to the entire class. If you want to send an email message to the entire class use this email link.
