Acknowledgment

I acknowledge with gratitude the contribution of my friend and colleague, Spencer G. (Skip) Niles to the development of the course syllabus for EDHS 722. Skip is Past-President of the National Career Development Association (NCDA) a Past- Editor of the Career Development Quarterly, and co-author of our text. Skip is head of the Counselor Education Program at Pennsylvania State University. It was my privilege to have Skip as a colleague when he was a faculty member in the UVA Counselor Education program and it is my good fortune that our friendship continues. Thank you Skip.

Note 5

Due to a variety of reasons the March 14 and March 21 schedule for EDHS 722 has been switched. We will meet at University Career Services (Bryant Hall) at 4 PM Wednesday the 14th for an orientation to Computer Assisted Career Guidance Systems by Gigi Davis-White and Elly Tucker. Because four of you are familiar with the location, I hope you will guide others. Unless I hear otherwise, Amanda and I will meet you at Bryant Hall. Because, Elly had a significant and very successful experience as an elementary counselor I am inviting her to use a few minutes and comment on career development programming in elementary schools. Gigi has also been invited to comment on career development programming in higher education in addition to commenting on resources she has used that may be appropriate for secondary schools.

We will begin the 21st class with the team role play that were carried forward.

Note 6 Exam question reminder

Early in the class, I told you to prepare for an examination essay question that is based on your knowing some outcome based research in career development interventions that would support a program or services you would offer in your proposed work setting.
