SPRING 2007

Requirements

Completing the course with a grade of B+ requires completing the requirements of each of the three units, and preparing a syllabus for a course that you might teach. The unit requirements are in the pages linked to the dates in the schedule. The essential features of the proposed syllabus will be presented to the course instructors and Counselor Education faculty who are able to attend the final, April 10 course meeting. You must also review the proposed syllabus with one of the instructors or with your advisor to seek additional specific feedback. The syllabus should be submitted by May 1 with a note that the feedback has been obtained from you advisor or an appropriate faculty member.

Grading

To receive a grade of A, you will be required to submit a three or fewer page report of one additional, self-directed, learning activity that you undertook to enhance your knowledge of Counselor Education pedagogy. The activity might be attending a program or programs at the University Teaching Resource Center, additional research on a topic, additional instruction in an area, learning a web course system (see Instructor Note 2 for additional information about one option). or any creative use of approximately eight hours. The report is due by the end of the semester (May 11) but completion by May 1 is encouraged
