Fair Warning

Any student in danger of receiving no credit for the course (that is, a grade below a C-) or of receiving a penalty against their final grade should be notified in advance whenever possible. Ideally, the instructor will first confer with the student, appraising him or her of the difficulty. The instructor should follow up that conference with an e-mail to the student, and a cc to the student's association dean, the athletic advising office (when appropriate), and the Writing Program administration.
