The
Craft of Argument, by Gregory G. Colomb & Joseph M. Williams
Introduces the Little Red Schoolhouse method of teaching argument,
including parts of argument and problem statements. A great resource
for those new to the Little Red Schoolhouse methodology. Also available
(by Colomb, D'Errico, Tracey, and Williams) is an expanded version
with six thematic reading units (Lying, Collective Hysteria, Romance,
Risk, Beauty, and Family).
Style:
Ten Lessons in Clarity and Grace, by Joseph M. Williams
Introduces the stylistic content of the Little Red Schoolhouse, including
lessons such as "old to new" and "characters and actions." A
useful resource for the style portion of ENWR.
The
Craft of Research by Gregory G. Colomb, Joseph M. Williams & Wayne
Booth
Introduces students to the fundamentals of research as not merely
fact gathering, but as an analytical process. Includes topics such
as "claims and evidence," "warrants," & "qualifications."
