 | "Setear" is pronounced "suh-TEER."
|
 | The name is a corruption of a Polish name,
Setera. Public-school officials in New Britain, Connecticut (sometimes known as
"New Brit-ski") misspelled the original name on some documents. My
immigrant grandparents' experience in Poland had apparently taught them not to question
authority, because they let the error not only stand but propogate, until it became the
customary spelling of the name.
|
 | In Portugese, "setear" means
"*****."
