Acceptance
The requirement for acceptance into the course is that you are licensed to teach in K-12 grades and you have a Bachelors degree from a 4 year College.

Registration

To register for a class, click on https://www.www.scps.virginia.edu/applying-registering/. and then click on New Students (Defined as not taken a course in 3 semesters) or Returning Students (Defined as have taken a course within 3 semesters).

New Students
If you are a new student, submit the biographic form online to identify you. After you receive permission from UVa via a return email approving you, mail or fax the class registration form to UVa.

Returning Students
If you are a returning student, mail or fax the class registration form directly. If you are a MAPE candidate, you can email your registation form.

Tuition for K-12 Educators - Fall 2011 through Summer 2012

  • Graduate in-state resident tuition is $351
    However, for a K-12 educator, the first 3 credits are discounted so that the cost is $235/cr X 3 cr = $705. The fourth credit is not discounted and is $351. For 4 credits the total tuition cost is $1124. Now you add an off-grounds fee of $17/cr x 4 cr= $68. The total cost is $1228.

  • Graduate out-of-state resident tuition is $740
    However, for a K-12 educator, the first 3 credits are discounted so that the cost of tuition is $525/cr X 3 cr = $1575. The fourth credit is not discounted and is $740. For 4 credits the total tuition cost $2315. Now you add an off-grounds fee of $17/cr x 4 cr= $68. The total cost is $2383.
