Prostate Cancer
Bladder Cancer

According to projected estimates for 2000, 180,400 new cases were to be diagnosed and 31,900 men were to die of prostate cancer in the United States that year. In the United States, prostate cancer incidence rates remain significantly higher in black men than in white men. I have a special clinical and research interest in this disease. I can offer patients both radical retropubic prostatectomy (with and without nerve sparing), brachytherapy ("seeds"), and cryotherapy in the management of localized disease.

By clicking on the links below, you will see slide shows pertaining to the important issues relating to urinary continence and quality of life (QOL) in the treatment of localized prostate cancer. In addition, a third presentation is included that discusses the use of alternative medicine in patients with prostate cancer. Finally, even more information can be obtained on bladder cancer from my Clinical Research page and the Patient Resources web page.
