continuing education (CE) courses offered on March 21-22, 2002 in
Blacksburg were well received by all those in attendance. VCAFS acknowledges
the fine contributions of Scott Klopfer (Conservation
Management Institute at Virginia Tech) who covered the basics
of ESRI Arc View geographic information systems as it applies to fisheries
biology and Dr. John Ney (Professor of Fisheries Ecology, Virginia
Tech) who provided a review of techniques and models to estimate
trophic support capacity of waterbodies for piscivourous fishes. These
two exceptional instructors devoted much time and effort.
