Registration and Accommodation Information

The meeting will be held on the campus of Washington and Lee. Accommodations have been arranged at the following location:

Hampton Inn – 401 East Nelson Street, Lexington, VA
540/463-2223

When making reservations, make sure you mention that you are with the Virginia Chapter AFS (VC AFS) group. The Hampton Inn was selected because it is within walking distance of the W&L meeting location, as well as downtown Lexington (eliminating the need for additional driving and parking). Evening socials will occur at facilities within the Hampton Inn.

Getting to the Meeting Location:

Registration and presentations will take place on Washington and Lee University campus, in the Stackhouse Theatre.  This is located on the lower floor of the John W. Elrod University Commons, which is centrally located on campus (see annotated visitor's map)   Visitor parking is very limited on campus, and downtown parking is often restricted (and enforced) to 2-hour intervals.  We highly recommend walking from the hotel to the meeting location, a distance of just over 0.5 miles.

Walking from the Hampton Inn to the Elrod Commons:

Walk down the hill on Nelson Street (Rt. 60) to Main Street.  Turn right on Main and go one block to Washington Street.  Turn left on Washington Street and walk down the hill and through the light at Jefferson Street.  Campus will be on your right after you cross Jefferson.  Continue straight on Washington Street.  Go up the incline on the sidewalk on the right hand side of the road (i.e. stay on the sidewalk) and turn right at the grassy quad just past the residence halls.  Follow that sidewalk straight to the Elrod Commons, which is the large building directly ahead of you (where the bookstore is located).  Look for signs for the meeting / Stackhouse Theatre (lower floor).

The annotated map points out available visitor parking and key locations for meeting events.
