Mid-term
Exams

Mid-Term Exam I will cover material from the first day of the course
through September 23. Mid-Term exam II will cover material from September
30 through October 28. Each exam will be divided into two sections:

an "ID-SIG" section, where you will identify a particular
term, person, concept, or event, and comment briefly on its significance;
and
an essay section in which you will write on two topics for
roughly 15 minutes. You will have a choice of essays on which to write.

Final
Exam
| |
The
final exam will cover material from November 4 through the final lecture
on December 4, but will also contain sections which demand a more
comprehensive knowledge of the war. The exam itself will be divided
into three sections:

an "objective" section, where you will address the
chronology of war-related events; and
an essay section, in which you will write two essays, each
for roughly 30 minutes on particular topics. One of these essays will
involve material covered only during the last half of the course.
The other will be comprehensive and will ask you to synthesize themes
and concepts covered during the entire course. |
