Wenqing (Grace) Shen, M.S.

Ph.D. Student

I graduated from Beijing Sport University with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Kinesiology. I started my Ph.D. training in East China Normal University in 2016. I am now spending one and a half years in the Yan Lab for my thesis sponsored by China Scholarship Council (CSC). I am particularly interested in the molecular mechanisms of exercise impact on health with a focus on effective interventions to cure non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular diseases. I will investigate impact of exercise on glucose and lipid metabolism targeting in AMPK, PEPCK, FBPase, ACC and others.

Outside of the lab, I like running, swimming, hiking and playing badminton. I like to exercise to keep my fitness and release stress. I also like music and movie. I love my family and friends for their generous support.
