Sable Thompson, B.S.

Medical Student

I am a second-year medical student at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. I graduated from the University of Florida in the Fall of 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Cell Science with a minor in Studio Art. My current research interests surround the effects of exercise-induced autophagy of mitochondria. The broad benefits of exercise on health outcomes, including mood disorders, are evident. I hope to contribute to the understanding of the molecular mechanisms of mood disorders and their clinical treatment.
